New things on the horizon

Well, here we go - starting into this family blog thing. I wanted to get something up and going before I get too involved in what's going on at work.

Omniture (the company I work for) just recently closed the deal on an acquisition of a competitor. The newly acquired business has its home office in San Diego, California. I was asked to be part of the team that works with our new office to migrate their clients over to our solution. As such, I will be spending a significant amount of time in the San Diego office over the coming weeks and months. It's quite a responsibility but I'm up to the challenge. The current plan is to fly out to San Diego on Monday morning and fly back to Utah on Friday afternoon/evening. My time on-site will be less and less as the team there comes up to speed.

Heather will be holding down the fort while I'm gone and hopefully won't go insane. The kids have been a little bit of a challenge recently, but I think that part of it is adjusting back from the craziness of the holidays. We hope that the routine kicks in soon. I should note that Heather and I spoke for the better part of a weekend before I accepted my assignment. She's a trooper and hopefully we'll be able to fly her out for a break over a weekend or something as this thing gets underway.

We'll get this up and going with pictures and the whole bit in the next couple weeks.

Heather, you and the kids are more than welcome to come hang out with us on evenings when Caleb's gone. We'd love the company!

Wow, good luck Heather! And Caleb too. Wish we could help out, I guess you could send the kids to Iowa!

Hi Caleb
Thanks for letting me in on the family news! I'm so proud of you! It takes a real brainiac to do that kind of work (in my book)! I know you'll do a good job for the company and hopefully be able to enjoy some "perks" too! Hang in there Heather!
Love ya all,
Aunt Gina
