Bryant's "Fast Hat"

Bryant was wearing his new spiderman hat today and I commented to him that I am glad he likes his new hat. He said, "Yeah" and turned to me with big, excited eyes and said, "and it makes me go fast. Even faster than my fast pants." =D
(I just thought that was great and had to share.)

Jellybeans

One of my friends made a post about a poem she had memorized in school and it reminded me of one I memorized. Figured I'd share it, though I don't remember who the author is.

JELLYBEANS
Johnny stuck jellybeans up his nose, that's a pretty dumb thing to do
But the kids all said, "Hey John's real cool, let's stick beans up our noses too."
Well a kid can't breathe with beans up his nose cause they get all stuck up inside,
So John and the others, I hate to say it, but they coughed and they choked and they died.
That's a pretty grim tale I must admit and it may not all be true.
Still, when somebody cool does something dumb you don't have to do it too.
So, don't be one of those with jellybeans up your nose.

More for Kaylee's Birthday

I don't want Kaylee's birthday to get the short end so here are some more, very late, pictures from her birthday.

Sara got her first taste of chocolate ice cream and love it, of course.

Some of Kaylee's presents.
They've all had fun working on this puzzle.

Checking out the snow cone maker. Great idea!!

She especially loved the "bling" on her letter!!!

Blowing out the candles.

Happy Birthday to Bryant!

As you may know, Bryant turned 5 today. We had family over yesterday to celebrate.

Heather made another cake which turned out great (as typical). Notice the candles in the second picture. Bryant thought that was cool. What was even funnier is that the air conditioning was running which was also blowing the candles...

Opening presents...

Stewart Cascade

So we're going to try to get caught up on this blog thing now that we have a ton of pictures taken and finally on the computer. Today's post comes from our hike to Stewart Falls. I was wrapping up a week off of work and we hadn't really done much outside of town. We had been planning a trip to Moab, but timing was a little off. So we invited everyone to hike with us.

We did the hike on Monday, July 6. We got parked and started the hike about 10am. We started at the Timpanogos trail head just inside the park boundaries. The first little bit was uphill and shady. I took a few pictures of some interesting trees and scenery:

Sara was really good for the hike. we finally put our Kelty pack to good use. We had tried it out a couple days before while walking around at Provo's annual Freedom Festival. She likes to hang out the side like a dog hangs out the window. It worked out pretty well until she got too close to a branch - she got a light scratch just above her eye and freaked out pretty bad...

Some pictures on the trail...

And some pictures at the falls. These were taken on the ridge that overlooks the falls landing.

This is a series of 4 pictures I took and stitched together to reconstruct the falls image. (Click the picture to see the the big image)

The view from the falls... You'll get to Sundance is you follow the stream down the mountain. That's how most of the crew hiked out.

You can't go on a hike to a waterfall without playing in the water. The kids all took off their shoes and waded for a few seconds at a time. The water was really cold. The mist from the falls felt really good.

Kaylee's Birthday (kinda)

Well, I got on here to post several pictures and realized that I can't put much on here. I guess the pictures on our new camera take up too much file space. Caleb had been saving them again at a smaller resolution but has run out of room on the drive he's been using and needs to create a new space for them. This is why he hasn't posted anything sooner. Anyway, I went ahead and put one picture up and hopefully more will follow soon. Sorry for the long delay between updates. It has literally been nonstop since summer started. Hopefully there won't be such a delay this time. Anyway....

Here's a picture of the birthday girl and her crown cake.
